The Muni Update
Good Morning,

On Monday the putting greens were hand watered with a wetting agent added to the tank water to help control isolated dry areas. The wetting agent will help hold today's rainfall in these areas and keep the greens from drying out too quickly. The areas where turf damage was present and repaired in 2024 were the targeted areas for these applications.

Heavy snow was forecast Tuesday night into late Wednesday morning. The storm pressure lessened as it approached our area and a total of three inches of snowfall fell at the golf course. It was a heavy wet snow that covered the golf course. By Thursday evening most of the snow melted and provided quite a bit of moisture to the golf course greens.

The driving range opened back up on Friday at noon with a decent amount of golfers on the practice facility. We continued to have golfers on the range throughout the day on Saturday. The driving range has been open since March 12. Today's hours will be evaluated by the weather throughout the day.
The pro shop clothing inventory has been updated this off season to include a wider variety of colors in hoodie sweatshirts, full zip light jackets, and t-shirts. Our new golf ball and golf glove inventories will be arriving in the next week. Also, we have added The Muni logo flags for sale in the clubhouse. This will be a nice opportunity for our golfers to purchase a likeness to the new style of flags we will be using on the golf course in 2025.

This upcoming week we are working on a scheduled time frame with Dakota Pump to install the new motor on the 75 HP turbine submersible pump. At the time of install we will charge the irrigation system to confirm everything is working properly. A time also needs to be scheduled for the consultant to complete the programming for the new control panels. It will be nice to get this project completed and start irrigation operations for the season.
It was announced on Saturday the golf course will be open Wednesday, March 26 for the start of the golf season. We ask our golfers to make their 2025 payments online at our website or stop by the clubhouse so they are registered for the Virtual Membership Drive which concludes on April 19. At the end of the Drive we will randomly draw five names to receive a $50 gift certificate to the golf course.

There will be no scheduled mowing maintenance this upcoming week. The greens will be mowed with our collar mower to clean up any standing debris on the putting surface. There will not be any grass mowed until our nighttime temperatures remain above freezing and soil temperatures rise. The only scheduled maintenance practices to be done on the course will be sand trap maintenance.

Please reach out with any questions or in regard to additional information on a topic at the golf course. Enjoy the remainder of the weekend. The weather does not look good for today so the clubhouse will be open limited hours.
