The Muni Update
Good Morning,

As warmer temperatures enter the forecast we feel relief from the bitter cold past week and become excited for the golf season to kick off in 2025. The snow on the ground will be gone in a couple of days, "Golf Fever" will be in the air, but that doesn't mean we jump right into being able to play golf. Please be patient and the golf course will be open as soon as it becomes ready for traffic and there is no threat to turf damage.
Currently all of the golf course amenity items are being addressed in preparation for the opening date. Currently tee markers are being cleaned, lightly sanded, followed by two coats of paint for a nice fresh look. This process will continue with a lot of other amenity items placed around the golf course during the season.
I have also been evaluating and updating a lot of our policies and guidelines. I hope to have all of these modified and updated by the end of next week. Some of these include:
  • Maintenance Training and Safety Guidelines
  • Clubhouse Training and Safety Guidelines
  • Quality Standards & Operations Manual
  • Tornado and Fire Evacuation Plans
  • Misc. Operations
The Muni has a customer survey that is available to our golfing public that chooses to enjoy our golf course each year. I have been going through the survey information that has been submitted to date and would like to touch on a couple of items that have been a pretty popular improvement suggestion by our guests.
1. Cart Path Repair
In 2024 I worked with Kruse, Cate, and Nelson to develop a cost estimate to repair damaged cart path areas and complete an overlay of all existing cart paths that were installed 25 years ago. We continue to work on this process and recognize it as a project that needs to be completed.

2. Landscaping Improvements
This off season I have been working with Bob Fullhart, Parks Director, to develop a new landscaping plan at the golf course. We will be completing this project during the 2025 golf season. It will be time consuming and we look forward to this upgrade for the golf course.

Obviously there is a lot of other feedback in the survey, but these two items were mentioned the most frequently. We appreciate your input by taking the time to complete our survey. Here is the link if you have not already had a chance to view the survey: 2025 Muni Survey

Please enjoy the remainder of the weekend, especially the sunshine today!.  By the end of the day all of the snow in my pictures from Friday will most likely be melted. Feel free to contact me with any questions or additional information on a topic.
