2-4-24 Update
Good Morning,
Golf season is only a couple months away. The warm temperatures have melted the majority of the snow which helps provide moisture to the golf course but also leaves it unprotected from the winter weather conditions. Severe drop in temperature, high winds, and now snow cover can cause a lot of turf loss under the right conditions. Currently the greens have quite a bit of moisture and remain in great shape.
With the golf season approaching quickly, we are starting the process of getting our seasonal staff back on board and ready to go for another great season. The golf course is so fortunate to have so many employees that come back to work year after year. Their past work experience and commitment to the golf course are such an asset.
The Spencer Municipal Golf Course board has been working on a campaign to raise dollars for the purchase of a new beverage cart. This vehicle will allow staff to provide both food and drink options to our golfing customers. The estimated cost for this new addition is $17,000. 
We started raising funds during our Chili Open golf tournament back in October of 2023. This event helped raise $3200 toward the goal. Thank you to everyone that participated in the Chili Open and helped us kick off this fundraiser.
The Muni also raised money through raffle purchases for items donated by Nelson Jewelry, Spencer Family YMCA, The Squire Shoppe, Sisters Cafe, Doll Distributing, Atlantic Bottling Company, and The Prime Rib. Thank you to each of these local businesses for helping us work toward our goal.
Thank you to each of you that have recently donated online to help us move closer to raising the dollars needed for this beverage cart. We are past the halfway mark toward the necessary dollar amount.
